STORY LINE: If you like shows with long, overarching stories made up of several, smaller, but interconnected stories, then yes. It’s worth watching. Every arc in the first two seasons before the final arc of season 2, builds up to said final arc of the season, which continues into the next season, and it all involves a 500 year old tragedy-revenge plot and reincarnation/possession. Also, much like Izuku Midoiya, aka Deku, from My Hero Academia, the main protagonist starts the story powerless in a world of powers(specifically magic), except this is much more rare in Black Clover since 20% of the world’s population in My Hero Academia have no powers, while Asta(the main character of Black Clover) is stated more than once to be the only person in the world without magic(though I find it unlikely the characters stating this would know it as a fact since they can’t know if there are no other magicless people), and not having magic is exactly why he’s able to use special anti-magic swords, each with a different anti-magic ability. For example, there’s one sword that can remove a spell from a person’s body, and there’s only one other person known to be capable of wielding these swords(though I won’t spoil who that is) despite the fact that that person can use magic. It also has very unique characters with interesting quirks(no, I don’t mean quirks as in powers like the word is used in My Hero Academia, I mean personality quirks) each with tragic backstories. The fighting is also very interesting because the Black Bulls’ teamwork is highly effective, with how they each use their respective abilities in the most effective ways. Such as their fight against Vetto, when Finral and Vanessa combine their portals and threads to give Asta incredible maneuverability, and in a later fight, Vanessa uses her threads to stop Asta mid-flight(because he gains a black, demon-like form with the ability to fly) which throws off the timing of their opponent who is much faster than them, so when he swings at Asta, he misses, and Magna uses his fireball to sever her thread immediately after their opponents’ swing misses, allowing Asta to continue flying forward for his attack. In season 3, we even see all the Black Bulls(minus Yami and Finral) working together using their hideout like its a mecha, because one of them can control their hideout like its a raging bull, and the others use their attacks from windows in the hideout while constantly replenishing their mana and diverting enemy attacks. The teamwork of the Black Bulls is amazing to watch. And there’s one specific moment during the Royal Knight Selection Exam that gave me chills more than any other in the series.
